Types of Concrete Finishes

Tamped Finish

A texture can be applied by imprinting the fresh concrete using a tamping beam. In its simplest form, a wooden beam is moved across the levelled surface in a series of close up and down tamps. A tamped concrete finish is frequently used for walkways or areas such as farmyards.

Brush Finish

Brush finish is recommended for large external carparks or transport yards, as it has very good benefits such as a non-slip texture. Ideal for external yards, a brushed finish is achieved by pulling a wire concrete brush over the surface of freshly levelled concrete.

Smooth Finish

Trowel-finished concrete floors are seamless surfaces that recreate the concrete effect. They can be applied to any kind of surface, indoor and outdoor, horizontally or vertically. The decorative effects that can be obtained with a trowel-finished concrete surface are several and always customisable.

Dust Topping to Power-Floated Floors

For industrial concrete floors, premixed powders are often used to give greater abrasion resistance. The dust is applied using a topping spreader just before the operatives start the power-float process. The dust topping gives an overall finish of smooth, shiny and stylish concrete, perfect for retail or warehouse environments.

Great job in creating an accessible pathway at Rhyl & District RFC. The job was completed on time and on budget with minimal disruption. Very professional operation.
